BET Awards: Performance Reviews in One Sentence


In order to get through some of the hoards of performances last night at the BET awards, it has been decided to make a special post, where performances are summed up in one sentence. You ready? Buckle your seat-belts, here we go.



#Beautiful - Mariah Carey, Miguel, Jeezy

I didn't even get past the first 40 seconds, because I refuse to be subjected to that kind of sub-par lip-synching. D-


Fine China / Don't Think They Know / Love More - Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj

As always with Chris, singing came second to dancing, while the man in charge of the censor bar surely lost his job after dropping the ball on Nicki's performance. C-

Q.U.E.E.N. - Janelle Monae and Erkyah Badu

Nice song, but Janelle came off as trying to hard to be Beyonce; and her butt isn't even that big so its a mystery as to why there was so much attention on it. C+

Problems - 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lama, A$AP Rocky

This is the epitome of rap stereotype: women littering the stage, curses dropping everywhere, lyrics about sex and money; it just lacks genuine intention.


I'm Out / Body Party - Ciara and Nicki Minaj

Both Ciara and Nicki brought incredible stage presence, a pretty hypnotic performance all together. B



Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell

The controversial No.1 came in with a performance that made Robin Thicke seem even creepier than before (though he seemed remarkably comfortable with the crowd, props to him). B-
